Continuing Competency Program (CCP) Information Sessions

The CDHM will be offering two types of information sessions this spring detailing the Continuing Competency Program (CCP) and how Registered Dental Hygienists can achieve its objectives.

1. General Information Sessions

The following information will be provided:

c. Review of Forms

Your choice of sessions:
Winnipeg: Faculty of Dentistry, University of Manitoba, 780 Bannatyne, Schwartz Theatre
· Thursday, May 6, 2010 — 6:00 – 9:00 PM
· Saturday, May 8, 2010 – 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
· Thursday, May 20, 2010 – 6:00 – 9:00 PM

Brandon: Riverbank Discovery Centre, #1-545 Conservation Drive
· Tuesday, May 11, 2010 – 6:00 to 9:00PM

2. Navigating the Dental Hygiene Competency Program

This session, presented by Joanna Asadoorian will further explore self-directed assessment and developing learning goals.

Your choice of sessions:
Winnipeg: Faculty of Dentistry, University of Manitoba, 780 Bannatyne, Schwartz Theatre
· Tuesday, May 25, 2010 — 6:00 – 9:00 PM
· Saturday, May 29, 2010 – 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

These sessions will also be available in video/audio format on the CDHM website at www.cdhm.info by the end of May for those unable to attend an in-person session.

If you are interested in attending any of the above sessions, please RSVP by email at ccp (at) cdhm.info by May 3, 2010, indicating what session you will be attending.

The full CCP Package/Manual will be mailed to all members shortly to allow for adequate review prior to the information sessions.

Announcement from the CDHM

On behalf of The College of Dental Hygienists of Manitoba, I am announcing that Kellie Hildebrandt, Executive Director/Registrar has submitted her resignation effective July, 2010. I know that I speak for Council when I say that we will miss her strong initiative, valued skills and good working relationships that she brought to the position. Kellie will be truly missed by her friends and colleagues in Winnipeg, and we wish her the absolute best in her future as she and her family move back to Saskatoon.

Kellie has provided dedicated service to the College since 2007 when she was appointed as Interim Registrar, later being selected as Registrar, and more recently as her role and responsibilities expanded to Executive Director/Registrar. Kellie has been instrumental in implementing the vision of Council in building our organization including the initial registration, on-going renewals, the start-up of an official office, development of the Continuing Competency Program, public service TV announcements, and countless other projects.

CDHM Council has engaged the services of Legacy Bowes Group, a professional executive search firm to assist us through the process of identifying and selecting a new Executive Director/Registrar who will seamlessly continue the excellent work that Kellie has done.
