Amended CDHM by-laws as of November 2017

On November 18th 2017, the CDHM held its Annual General Meeting (AGM). As per section 54(2) of The Dental Hygienists Act the by-laws may be amended and repealed ‘after notice is given in accordance with the by-laws, a by-law under section (1) may be amended or repealed by a majority of the members of the college

(a) present and voting at a general meeting; or
(b) voting in a mail vote or other method of voting conducted in accordance with the by-laws.

Please send, by October 8, 2014, any AGM related questions you may have via regular mail to the CDHM office or by email to cdhm@cdhm.info.

Due to great responses in attendance and to avoid a delay of the start of the AGM, please arrive for registration and nutrition at 9:30 am.

CDHM Amended By-laws

On October 23 2010 the CDHM held its Annual General Meeting (AGM). As per section 54(2) of The Dental Hygienists Act the by-laws may be amended and repealed ‘after notice is given in accordance with the by-laws, a by-law under section (1) may be amended or repealed by a majority of the members of the college

(a) present and voting at a general meeting; or
(b) voting in a mail vote or other method of voting conducted in accordance with the by-laws.

At the AGM the membership voted to amend the by-laws so that they now contain the most current version of the CDHA’s Code of Ethics.

A Code of Ethics is a document that is designed to set out acceptable behaviours that registrants of a profession are expected to incorporate into their practice. As well, a Code of Ethics can also increase confidence in a governing body by indicating to the public that registrants of the organization are committed to following basic ethical guidelines in the course of providing treatment.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING NOTICE

We are pleased to announce that the 3rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the College of Dental Hygienists of Manitoba (CDHM) has been scheduled for:

Date: Saturday, October 23rd, 2010
Time: 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. **Note** Sign-in/Registration is from 8:30 – 9:00 with the meeting starting at 9:00 a.m.
Location: Canad Inns Destination Centre, Fort Garry, 1824 Pembina Hwy, Winnipeg, MB, R3T 2G2, P: 1-888-332-2623

PLEASE NOTE: The CDHM requests that you RSVP your attendance by Friday, October 8, 2010 in order for sufficient refreshments and food to be provided. Please email CDHM (at) cdhm.info or call us at (204) 219-2678.

Hotel Accommodations: If you are traveling from out of town and require hotel accommodations, a block of rooms has been reserved at the Canad Inns – Destination Centre, Fort Garry for Friday, October 22nd at the reduced rate of $115.00 + taxes. Please quote the group number – 158591. These rooms will be held for CDHM members until Monday October 4th. Any rooms that have not been booked by this date will be released into general sale. Reservations can be made by calling 1-888-332-2623 or locally at 204-261-7450

COUNCIL ELECTIONS
The CDHM has received three (3) nominations for the two (2) available positions for dental hygienists on Council. The individuals elected will serve a three (3) year term. The election will consist of a vote for or against each individual candidate. You may vote in person at the AGM, by mail or proxy. Please find enclosed the biographical information for the individuals interested in serving on Council:

  • Andrea Fruehm
  • Colleen Henzel

Voting at the AGM
Those members of the CDHM, who will be attending the AGM, will be provided with a voting ballot upon check in. Please remember to bring your membership (wallet) card or personal identification with you.

Voting by mail or proxy
Those members of the CDHM, who are unable to attend the AGM, may participate in the election of Council through the process of submitting a mail or proxy ballot. If you are not planning to attend the AGM and wish to vote, you may request a mail or proxy ballot by emailing the CDHM at CDHM (at) cdhm.info or calling (204) 219-2678. Please allow enough time to receive the proxy ballot by mail and then have it mailed back and received at the office by October 18, 2010. As per the By-Laws, Section Proxies, 4.21: The represented member must submit the signed proxy form to the college at least 5 business days before the meeting takes place.
